At Sensory Kids & Social Minds, our Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services are offered within an integrated, transdisciplinary framework. We only provide ABA services to families who are also receiving occupational therapy (OT) and/or speech-language pathology (SLP) services with us. This model allows for more tailored, cohesive intervention and ensures ongoing collaboration and communication between disciplines. By aligning therapeutic goals and approaches across providers, we enhance consistency, reinforce learning across contexts, and provide families with a unified and supportive care team.

Our ABA program draws from contemporary, child-centered models, including the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)—a relationship-based, play-driven approach grounded in applied behavior analysis and developmental science. ESDM emphasizes the importance of following the child’s lead, using naturalistic routines, and nurturing shared joy and reciprocal engagement. Our interventionists prioritize the development of early social communication, emotional reciprocity, and cognitive flexibility through interactions that are meaningful to the child.

In addition, we embed progressive, play-based strategies that focus on cultivating a child’s internal motivation to engage in their natural roles—such as being a playful explorer, a curious communicator, a learner, a friend, and a family member. Through dynamic, emotionally attuned, and developmentally informed practice, our ABA services aim not only to build specific skills but also to support each child in developing the capacities needed for lifelong participation, connection, and wellbeing.
